Point of No Return

I had not noticed that last week I'd reached the half way mark of my original 90,000 word projection. Having arrived at the 46,000 word mark, I'm as far from the end of the story as to the beginning. If I'm going to run out of fuel, it might as well be near the finish than somewhere along the trail heading back to the start. Then again, this logic might not apply as well to writing as it does to flying. No matter, I'd still rather crash and burn near the end than the beginning. (This entire issue is mute as my reassessed word projection is 120,000 words.)

You know what a higher word count is good for? Editing. It gives you a really nice buffer for adding, subtracting, and changing the final draft.
All in all-- who doesn’t love thirty thousand extra words of hell trees?

JUST FOR FUN/excellent procrastination device

Although this novelty program will always say you write like some famous author, even if you write like a chimpanzee with a typewriter, it can be fun to play with and may surprise you. For example: Even I am not fool enough to believe that I actually write like Chuck Palaniuk, but interestingly enough, when I submit a long piece, say a few thousand words, his name pops up about 75% of the time.

In addition, I've probably played with this a hundred times and, despite the fact that I consistently fail to mention "farts" in my work, the program has equated my work to male writers 100% of the time. Out of curiosity, I did some experimentation and found that the program associated my female test subjects with famous women authors just as consistently.

My advice: Have some fun with it before the PC police shut down this sexist program.
